A Virginia Thanksgiving of Hope, Love & Family

A Virginia Thanksgiving of

Hope, Love and Family

The bond between The Walking Veteran and Virginia’s all American Family had began on a very windyday.   A mother and two precious daughter had seen The Walking Veteran pulling his wagon north towards Washington DC.  The wagon, lined with flags of each military branch and the flag of our great country along with a sign:  “Walk Across America”. The Walking Veteran gave curiosity to the wife and two daughters of a Army Veteran.

Stephanie, Savannah and Olivia had stopped to give The Walking Veteran some food, drinks and pull his wagon.

After completing his mission in Washington DC, The Walking Veteran had returned to present ” The Daniel Cox Inspirational Award” to Savannah and Olivia.  The award is to recognize the goodness of America’s youth.

With serious doubts of making it, pulling a heavy wagon, cold and no where to walk on a hilly Virginia highway will heavy Thanksgiving traffic a blessing from Angels was about to come upon The Walking Veteran.  Unknown to The Walking Veteran an abundance of blessings where about to rain out from a family nothing short of Angels.

Stephanie and her sister Tammy will quickly tell you that their love and caring for others comes from the way that they were raise.  Their mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, is know to everyone outside of the family as: “Mother Brooks”.  She is truly the Mother Theresa of American.

The Walking Veteran, with his stubbornness, quickly discovered that in the family the woman become 1st sergants in a heart beat when it comes to offering help.  There is no way to say no or I can’t accept help.  They had quickly turned his preaching around on him.

From a baby to the great grandmother all had join in to show love of a truely All American family.  They provided transportation, shelter, food but most of all their love.  This is what America is about.  Not what we see on 24/7 on cable news but in real America loving families really do exist.

Two small children and a mother on a windy day and now Hope, Love and Family gives The Walking Veteran a renewed spirit.Hope, Love and Family for The Walking Veteran
